What a great emotion! Sunday, October 25, 2015 I was at the finish line of the 30th Venice Marathon, the Marathon of Venice (as a volunteer – assistance). After an hour of departure, I began to look at the time, positioned right on arrival in Venice in Riva Seven Martyrs, just before the last bridge that takes you to the Gardens. Time passes and you start watching the clock … “we’re almost there” … I look at the last bridge of the marathon in front of me, I look at the finish…there is the Kenyan Julius Chepkwony Rotich, arrives alone and crossed the finish line in 2h11’08 “. The great emotion I felt was to see how many have come to the same finish, without thinking about the clock or the ranking. Some people arrived smiling and who a little upset, who has waited a companion to get together, who was paired and was “dragged” to the finish line hand in hand! Some people ran to remember a friend or family member, who for a good cause. Each arrival gave me joy and a great desire to try me too! Is certainly not the 42km in my thoughts, not recommended for those like me suffer from back pain, but the 10Km is within my reach, that of Venice then I just can not make me miss!
